You may be familiar with many of the ingredients on this list. That’s because they’re all natural essential and botanical oils. No added fillers, parabens, SLS, chemicals, or any other unfamiliar toxins you do not want on your skin.

what is it?

Juniper berry oil is extracted from the berries growing on the highly branched evergreen Juniper tree, native to North America, Europe and Southwest Asia.

skin benefits:

  • High in vitamin C, the oil also contains flavonoid antioxidants, volatile oils, and coumarins which all work to protect, repair, and strengthen the epidermis. 

  • The volatile oils contain monoterpenes, providing anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. 

  • Aside from this long list of benefits, juniper berry oil also helps regulate hormonal balances in the skin, preventing acne from oily skin. 


how to use it? 

  • Topical: Dilute 1 drop with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil and apply to desired area as needed.

  • Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes 3 times daily.

Kalahari melon oil’s benefits for your skin:

  • Anti-inflammatory: Kalahari melon oil reduces inflammation caused by acne while skin-friendly vitamins soothe.

  • Cleansing: Linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid works to unclog pores and remove excess sebum from your skin’s surface.

  • Anti-aging: Kalahari melon oil is tightening and wrinkle-reducing thanks to antioxidants and vitamins A, C, + E. Preformed vitamin A is a retinoid and your skin is a retinoid-responsive organ. Retinol stimulates the production of new skin cells and keeps skin hydrated. Vitamin C and vitamin E are antioxidants which help prevent and reverse free radical-induced oxidative damage, thus slowing down signs of skin aging. Vitamin C also improves elasticity and stimulates collagen production while vitamin E helps with atopic dermatitis and heals wounds.

Kalahari melon oil can be applied topically as is or as a carrier oil. Remember to always perform a patch test (on the inside of your wrist or arm) to detect any allergic or adverse reactions.

Marula oil is derived from the African Marula tree, either from the Marula Nut or from the Marula fruit kernels.

what is it?

The patchouli plant is native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia. Today it is grown in a variety of places. Its name comes from the first Tamil people in southern India. The Tamils were connected to the deep and rich aromatic palette of patchouli. We obtain the oil by a steam distillation of the dry leaves.

  • For years, the use of patchouli oil has been known to treat hair loss.

what is pomegranate seed oil?

Pomegranate is native to the region extending from Iran to the north of India and has been cultivated since Antiquity throughout the Mediterranean region. It was introduced to America in the late 16th century and to California in 1769. Nowadays, it is grown all over the world

Pomegranate seed oil is obtained from its ripe seeds by cold pressing, which preserves the oil's quality as well as its enzymes, nutrients, and vitamins by protecting it from heat.

what is rosehip oil? 

Rosehip oil is extracted from the seeds and hips of the rosa canina rose bushes, which are grown mostly in Chile. Unlike rose oil, which is extracted from rose petals, rosehip oil is pressed from the rose plant’s fruit and seeds. The oil is widely known to have powerful anti-aging effects and benefits for the scalp.

  • Vitamin A works to smooth fine lines and thickens the dermis (deeper skin layers), firm and tighten the skin, even out skin tone and fade acne scars and dark spots.

Sunflower oil is extracted from the sunflower seeds of sunflower plants, native to the Americas.

  • Antioxidant: its richness in vitamin E makes sunflower oil a perfect antioxidant to protect skin cells from the sun's UV rays while also acting as a perfect moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

Sweet orange essential oil is derived from the fruits of the Citrus sinensis botanical. We obtain the oil by centrifugation, producing a cold-pressed oil.

  • Acne-fighting: acne is created when the sebaceous glands produce too much oil and clog your pores. It leads to the development of a bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes. The antibacterial properties of sweet orange oil help prevent bacteria and heal the skin.

Vegetable glycerin, also known as glycerol or glycerine, is a clear, odorless liquid with a syrup-like consistency, made from soybean, coconut, or palm oils. It was accidentally discovered more than two centuries ago by heating a mixture of olive oil and less monoxide. 

Vegetable glycerin’s benefits for your skin:

  • Moisturizing: Glycerine is a humectant, meaning it acts like a sponge and draws moisture to the skin’s surface and slows down evaporation of water on the skin, making sure it stays moisturized and hydrated. 

  • Anti-aging: Glycerine can help skin cells mature properly, slowing down signs of aging.

  • Non-comedogenic: Despite being an oil, glycerine is oil-free and noncomedogenic, meaning it’s gentle and won’t clog pores for acne-prone skin.

Watermelon seed oil is extracted by pressing from the seeds of the Citrullus lanatus (watermelon) particularly common in West Africa.

 

skin benefits:

  • Watermelon seed oil is high in fatty acids such as linoleic and oleic acid that battle signs of aging like wrinkles. Other fatty acids such as omega-6 and phytosterols increase new collagen production and cell regeneration.

The normal lifespan of a Baobab tree is 500 years, with the oldest trees reaching the age of 5,000 years and a height of 20 meters. Known to the locals as "The Tree Of Life,” Baobab's bark, leaves, and fruit pulp are also used.

what is bergamot oil:

Bergamot oil comes from the citrus fruit of the bergamot plant and contains tons of beneficial compounds. It contains high contents of compounds limonene, linalool, and linalyl acetate. 

skin benefits:

  • Limonene is a strong antioxidant known to calm the skin

  • Linalyl Acetate balances the natural oil on our skin while also reducing inflammation, redness and healing rashes. Other compounds, citropten and begapten, have anti-inflammatory properties, too. 

  • Flavonoids in bergamot oil possess strong antimicrobial activity on bacteria and yeast, potentially helping with dermatophytosis.

  • Mix bergamot essential oil with a carrier oil to use as a body lotion or for massage.

  • Add two to five drops of bergamot essential oil to products such as body wash, shampoo, and facial scrubs.

What is broccoli seed oil:

Broccoli is originally from Italy where its species was actually created by the Romans from another type of wild cabbage. The broccoli oil is obtained from its seeds after cold pressing.

Broccoli seed oil’s benefits for your skin:

  • Nutritious, hydrating: thanks to its richness in fatty acids, broccoli vegetable oil maintains perfect hydration of the skin. It contains unsaturated and essential fatty acids to provide care and protection to the skin.

  • Regenerating, antioxidant: Broccoli vegetable oil is rich in vitamins, thus giving it very interesting antioxidant and regenerating skin properties. The vitamins it contains participate in the elimination of free radicals which can contribute to the appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin C, for example, is a major antioxidant that helps protect cells. How to use it:

Broccoli vegetable oil is particularly suitable for dry skin or a tendency to redness.

  • Regenerating affect: in the morning and evening, put a few drops of broccoli oil on your mature skin or to prevent the appearance of wrinkles.

Castor oil is a vegetable oil pressed from castor beans. Castor grows in the South Eastern Mediterranean basin, in East Africa and India. It is especially prevalent in tropical regions.

What is clary sage oil:

Derived from the celebrated medicinal Salvia sclarea herb, which is native to Italy, Southern France, and Syria, clary sage oil receives its name from the Latin word “clarus,” meaning “clarifying” or “cleansing.”

Clary sage oil’s benefits for your skin:

  • Anti-inflammatory: clary sage oil contains an ester called linalyl acetate. Essentially, this powerful compound works to reduce skin inflammation, heal the epidermis and soothe skin.

How to use it:

There are multiple ways to use clary sage oil

  • Breathe the scent in deeply to relax

  • Add three to five drops in an ounce of carrier oil for a massage oil or body cream. Apply the mixture directly on your skin. The pulse points at your wrists and temples or behind your knees and ears are all good spots.

  • Add clary sage oil onto faded potpourri to make drawer sachets

What is frankincense oil?

Frankincense, or olibanum, is made from the resin of the Boswellia tree, typically growing in dry, mountainous regions such as India, Africa and the Middle East. Frankincense is an ancient oil boasting beauty benefits, used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine since 500 BC. It has a woody, spicy smell and can be inhaled, absorbed through the skin, steeped into a tea or taken as a supplement.

Frankincense oil’s benefits for your skin:

  • Limonene holds antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties.
